Big
Bear Lake is an ideal choice for a quick mountain getaway.
It is located within a couple of hours of both Los Angeles
and San Diego. Change your view, come up and enjoy our
pristine alpine air.
The
Lake has 22 miles of shoreline and is excellent for
kayaking or canoeing. Families can enjoy renting pontoon
boats and touring the Lake. The Pirate Ship from the
Time Bandits makes regular appearances. Big Bear Lake
is also legendary for it’s great fishing. Enjoy
water-skiing or wakeboarding. Cable wakeboarding will
be coming to this Southern California Lake soon!
The
Big Bear Valley is surrounded by the San Bernardino
National Forest and has very good hiking trails and
camping sites. The mountain roads are great for off-roading.

A
trip to the Sky Chair at Snow Summit is fun. The chair
lift runs all day, affording panoramic views of the
Valley. The chair also carries Mountain Bikes to the
top. Check with the Forest Service for Trail Maps.
